The book signing in the quaint bookstore goes very well, but later at their motel things go wrong. An attempt on the life of the book editor puts her in the hospital, hanging on for her life. Who would attack this woman and why. Was it because she looked so much like Penny that the attacker got the wrong woman? Jim has to find out and another murder doesn't help.
