Description
The Age of Innocence is the story of Newland Archer and his wife's cousin, the Countess Olenska. Fleeing from a troubled marriage on the Continent, Mme. Olenska realizes that New York offers no refuge for a woman in her circumstances. In his effort to understand and protect her, Newland Archer loses his heart, and realizes to late that his world of wealth and privilege offers him scant few ways in which to live.
