Description
This documentary follows a new generation of internet poker professionals during the meteoric rise and sudden crash of the multibillion dollar online poker industry of the 2000s.. For millions of young people, online poker was more than a game, it was a lifestyle. It was an opportunity to live completely outside the system, to discover your true identity and get rich doing something you truly love. All the elements that made poker such an integral part of American culture throughout history were found in online poker, and these 21st century poker mavericks helped launch the game into an exciting new era. But everything changed on "Black Friday", April 15th, 2011, when the US Department of Justice unsealed indictments against the major US-facing online poker sites and shut down online poker in America. Suddenly, these online poker professionals weren’t mavericks. They were outlaws.
